We had omakase tonight and are already planning the next visit. The food was wonderful, the textures and flavors an explosion of delight. Service was friendly and attentive, and there’s a great sake menu too. Grateful to have such an excellent place close to home (I mean, I did mention the sake :)) Adding: we came back with friends and then with the kids. Everyone found amazing food to eat, and there’s even a private room for small family celebrations! I loved to see vegan and/ or gluten free options beyond sushi (I had the best tofu salad) and the service was perfect. I definitely recommend this place.

Wow! A Japanese restaurant actually run by Japanese with Japanese sushi chefs! A rare find on the East coast for sure. We will DEFINITELY be coming back here. The food was exquisite—from the presentation to the taste. The ambience was simple, elegant and bright. I loved everything about this place. The manager and waiter were amazing. I loved that the restroom was upstairs (see pics). It was so quaint...like going up to a spa. Classy restroom...so clean, unlike most restaurants. This was my 2nd son’s birthday treat from my cousin. He ordered the American Wagyu Striploin Steak. Regrettably I forgot to take a picture. The problem with this place and it is a HUGE problem is EVERYTHING IS SO DARN TASTY. You’re gonna have a hard time choosing but don’t worry...because if all these dishes were that delicious, I’m sure everything will be delicious. Anyways, this wagyu steak was mind-blowing. My deepest thanks to my cousin for an amazing treat. Folks, I’m telling you, this place is worth a visit.

My new go to sushi place outside of sushi aoiki omakase. Fish tasted super fresh. Everything we ordered was great. Creative desserts are a plus as well. Expensive but worth the price.

I had my first date with my fiance at this restaurant a year ago. And on our one-year anniversary, we celebrated at the same restaurant! I mentioned this when making the reservation! And we received dessert and drinks as complimentary service. I've visited many restaurants, but this was the first restaurant that paid such detailed attention to us! Thank you so much! This is my favorite restaurant!!

Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff, making my first visit feel incredibly welcoming. The service and hospitality were exceptional, making me feel truly pampered. The food and sushi were out of this world! After struggling to find a great sushi place in Jersey, I finally found a gem. Each piece of sushi melted in my mouth, and paired with a fantastic cocktail, the experience was absolutely worth it. Also, don’t miss out on the dessert! They’re incredibly unique and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

I came with my husband for our anniversary for a nice dinner out. Unlike most sushi restaurants, I noticed alot of the sushi staff were actually Japanese! It really seemed like we were getting a real sushi experience here at Jugemu. Everyone was very considerate and kind, and I had no trouble communicating any questions I had. Some of my favorite things were the Sashimi selection, which had a diverse and good range of fresh fish! I also enjoyed their Suntory draft beer, which luckily they had in their happy hours menu. It is my favorite Japanese beer, and not many places have them, so I recommend people to try! They also had a wide selection of Sake, which almost felt overwhelming! But the staff seem very knowledgeable, and my husband ended up getting a Sake flight, which came with 3 of their most popular Sake. Thank you for a wonderful evening, will come again!

I would highly recommend anyone looking for a restaurant with delicious food and lively atmosphere. We recently dined at Jugemu that exudes a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The menu offered a delightful array of delicious Japanese dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. I recommend to try fresh oysters here. It was creamy in texture and had an fresh splash of sea flavor that I can only describe as “yummy.” The sushi rolls, adorned with inventive combinations, marry tradition with innovation, leaving an indelible impression. What truly stood out was the impeccable service – attentive and friendly staff added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend for a delightful Japanese culinary journey!

Very authentic Japanese cuisine and good atmosphere in the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer w/Gozen add-on (8) and assorted tempura w/Gozen add-on (8) for the dinner. Food was delicious and the portions were okay. I wished they could include an Oshinko (Japanese pickled vegetables) in the add-on. But overall it was pretty good and we’re satisfied. We’ll definitely come back for their lunch special next time. I highly recommend this place. Update: Tried their sashimi lunch special and eel rice lunch, both are good.
